MonoVisions Black & White Photo Contest 2025

These images were made while exploring the North Coyote Buttes region of the Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness, located along the Southern Utah/Northern Arizona border in the U.S. Images of “The Wave” and the “White Pocket” are included. This area is now accessible only by permit, and I feel exceptionally fortunate to have been successful in being selected to visit the area. Though most would be more inclined to show these images for their incredible colors, I chose to also process them in B&W. I love the textures of the Navaho Sandstone layers, and the way in which these images are rendered in monochrome.

‘Wonders of the Vermillion Cliffs’ was the Black & White Series of the Year Honourable Mention Winner in the MonoVisions Photography Awards 2018.
