How and when did you become interested in photography?

I got more interested in photography while I was obtaining my diplomas in photography back in 2013. Since then, I love working with still images and with digital and instant film.

Is there any artist/photographer who inspired your art?

My work is based on the construction of a visual language with theoretical and literary references nevertheless, some many photographers and painters have inspired me such as: Flor Garduño, Florence Henri, Francesca Woodman, Duane Michals, Albarran & Cabrera, Masao Yamamoto, Giorgio Di Chirico, J.M.W Turner, Caspar Friedrich, to mention a few.

Why do you work in black and white rather than colour?

To be honest I work with both, although, at the begining of my photographic practice I was so involve working with balck and white images. When I’m about to develop a project or a series the first thing I put on the table is the image treatment. If I’m working with bnw or color, digital or analog.

How much preparation do you put into taking a photograph/series of photographs?

Part of my process came from writing and sometimes by making some sketches. I work with theoretical, phylosophical, and literary references, so creating a image from a concept or a poetic instant takes me quite time of observing and processing in my mind through imagination. And then, having my moment with my camera and the place I’m working on.

Where is your photography going? What projects would you like to accomplish?

My work is a combination of interior and still life images. Most of what I have done I have approached concepts like the transient and the absent; memory, loss, and void. I want to continue exploring these concepts and see how the photographic image can emerged from them.
