This exhibition features an extraordinary series of landscapes by master photographer Diane Levell (American, born 1946), whose works are marked by poetic beauty, coupled with technical prowess. A selection of more than 20 photographs from Levell’s Bucks County series (2015 –) will illuminate her ability to seemingly transform the familiar into the magical. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Bucks County, Levell attended the University of Delaware and George Washington University, then spent much of her career in Europe. A fearless adventurer and pioneer, Levell continues to surprise, experiment, and push the boundaries of photography; she challenges viewers to slow down and look closely enough for an alchemical transformation of matter to take place before their eyes. These never-before-exhibited landscape photographs, each printed on Japanese rice paper (itself a singular feat), will impress viewers with their technical precision and craftsmanship and delight with their mysterious loveliness.
