– How and when did you become interested in photography?

It all started while I was in high school, I was very passionate about art and photography so my father got me a compact camera so that I could take it anywhere with me and I started doing portraits of my classmates. I remember it made me so happy to see them update their profile photos on Facebook with my pictures. I felt like a big photographer.

– Is there any artist/photographer who inspired your art?

There are many different artists who inspire my art; I am very attracted to HORST’s work because of his posing style and how classic his photos look no matter where they’ve been taken, I also feel inspired by Guy Bourdin. Guy Bourdin’s work inspires me a lot in terms of getting to know more about women and how they can be photographed in a more unique way

– Why do you work in black and white rather than color?

I don’t mainly work in black and white, but I do love having many photos in black and white or sepia out of every series I work with. I feel like not having it would take the series into a very superficial level, empty and without telling a real message.

– How much preparation do you put into taking a photograph/series of photographs?

I mostly spend a week or two thinking about concepts, but it at times turns out to be a slightly different from the original plan, so I have learned to let things go with the flow and happen in a natural way without forcing it. The model and the team also influence me a lot as an artist in the moment of shooting, so positive vibes and encouragement is KEY for my photography process. I mostly shoot medium format digital, occasionally 35mm depending on my mood.

– Where is your photography going? What projects would you like to accomplish?

I believe is going in the right direction, I am very focused in creating multiple new series where I am exploring women’s beauty in different ways and how this is an impact for society. Also turning my photography into a more unique way by adding my passion for collages.
