The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team. ~ Phil Jackson
The oldest annual marathon in Europe and the third-oldest in the world is the Peace Marathon, held since 1924 in Kosice, Slovakia. The marathon takes place each year on the first October Sunday. The last year’s (2015) fell on 4 October.
The course consists of two practically identical circuits and is flat, completely asphalted and traffic free. It leads mainly in the historic city centre and partly through the Anicka Park, where were shot all presented images.
In nearly ideal weather (14 degrees at start and 16 at finish with no wind) and great help of sub runner Evans Ruto as pacemaker, the course record nearly fell. The winner, 29 years old Kenyan Samuel Kosgei, missed the course record (2:07:01) by only six seconds.
The 92nd Peace Marathon also marked a new record of participants, more than 11 000 in all races, and from 49 countries.
To highlight motion and dynamics of the sporting event, for shooting were used exclusively long exposures, with a combination of panning or steady camera.
