Biography: photographer of nudes – Pierre Molinier

Pierre Molinier (1900 – 1976) was a French painter, photographer and “maker of objects”.

One-time member of the surrealists cast out by Andre Breton for being beyond the pale. A photographer who pioneered the exploration of sexuality outside the norm through mock-victorian staged photos and photo montages made in the 60s and 70s. His photos of himself and others cross-dressing in S&M couture, often shot through a keyhole lens, are technically beautiful, unnerving and comical.
